Clarity supports race to save our oceans

Clarity Environmental is sponsoring a team of students who have just embarked on an ambitious 2,000 mile non-stop row around Britain for cleaner oceans. If successful, they will be the youngest ever team to have completed the challenge.

We are sponsoring a team of students who have just embarked on an ambitious 2,000 mile non-stop row around Britain for cleaner oceans. If successful, they will be the youngest ever team to have completed the challenge.

Despite having no previous experience of rowing, the Exe Endurow team have now set off on the GB Row Challenge. Often called the ‘toughest rowing race in the world’. it has only ever seen 14 successful finishers, in four boats.

In a bid to contribute towards a more sustainable future for the UK’s waters, the team are taking part to raise both money and awareness for the problem of ocean pollution, raising money for UK charity Just One Ocean. Clarity Environmental has provided sponsorship to the team and we are proud to see our name on their boat, travelling the coastline of Britain in support of such a great cause.

Just One Ocean is committed to tackling a broad and varying range of pollution problems facing the world’s oceans. The charity undertakes projects, and develop solutions working alongside local communities, NGOs and businesses. Key to their approach is enabling education.

We are really excited and appreciative to have Clarity’s support for our journey, especially in such trying circumstances.

Charles Bromhead

Exe Endurow team member, Charles Bromhead, said of the sponsorship: “We are really excited and appreciative to have Clarity’s support for our journey, especially in such trying circumstances. We’re crossing fingers for a safe passage and hoping we might bag a world record or two. Hopefully we can build a bit of a buzz around our efforts and can spur people on to protect our oceans!”

Clarity Environmental Managing Director, David Honcoop, said: “Both the ambition shown by this team and their passion for cleaner oceans resonated with our Clarity Cares committee. Having worked with the charity Just One Ocean in the past, we are delighted to support this challenge by providing sponsorship that will not only raise money, but also awareness, for an important cause. We wish the team all the very best for this challenge and will enjoy watching them progress through the race.”

David Jones, Founder and CEO of Just One Ocean, as well as a researcher at the University of Portsmouth, said: “The team put in an incredible amount of work in a relatively short space of time. We are extremely grateful for the support they are giving to Just One Ocean and wish them the best of luck.”
