As a proud supporter of local charities, we were delighted to donate to the Adur Special Needs Project (ASNP) as they held their first annual sponsored walk.
For almost 30 years ASNP has been supporting local families with children who have special or additional needs and disabilities such as Autism, Fragile X Syndrome and ADHD.
The charity held a Pirate-themed event for their sponsored walk on Sunday 1 October 2017. Held in the centre of Shoreham, West Sussex, children, families, supporters, and trustees of the charity took part in fun relays of the 200-metre Adur Ferry Bridge.
The ASNP secures income from grant givers and funding applications, alongside its own fundraising events. The charity hopes that the sponsored walk will become an annual highlight.
Heidi Rush, charity trustee and organiser of the event, said: “In recent months, the waiting list of children hoping to join the play scheme has grown significantly which means there is an obvious need to raise more money.”
“We believe that the play scheme is essential to the families we support and we had great fun bringing the local community together to focus on raising money for our important work.
Clarity Environmental donated £1,000 to the charity’s fundraising event. David Adams, Managing Director of Clarity, said: “As a business, we take our corporate social responsibility seriously and are proud to support a range of charities. We are delighted to have been able to support this local charity that provides such a valuable service for children and their families.
