We are delighted to announce that our charitable donations topped £50,000 in 2019, supporting a range of good causes, personal challenges and awareness campaigns.
We have made a pledge to divert over 1 per cent of profits to charitable organisations and awareness campaigns, through our Corporate Social Responsibility programme, Clarity Cares. With our business growing year-on-year, we have seen these contributions increase from £40,000 the previous year to £50,000 in 2019.
Among the donations made in 2019, we have:
- Supported a total of 27 good causes throughout the year.
- Provided funds to Surfers Against Sewage, enabling the charity to supply 8 beach clean boxes.
- Enabled 4 children to attend a surf therapy course by donating to the Wave Project.
- Sponsored a squadron of Hounds for Heroes assistance dogs that will dramatically the lives of ex-service men or women.
- Provided 12,500 meals for those that need it most, reducing food waste, by donating to The Felix Project.
In addition to financial giving, we have also donated staff time to good causes. A litter pick challenge saw the team walk over 250 miles – the distance from Brighton to Land’s End – picking litter that would otherwise have been destined for our waterways. And we provided consultancy support to Rise, which has helped the Sussex-based charity working to support those affected by domestic abuse, to ensure their annual sporting events become more sustainable.
Managing Director, David Honcoop, said: “It is a privilege to have worked with all of these organisations that do such outstanding work to improve lives and make the environment around us a better place to live. But I am also delighted to see that we are inspiring our own staff to make a difference; not only have our teams taken on their own personal fitness challenges to raise money, but they have also given up their time to do good.
“Charities are experiencing immensely difficult times right now, with many under serious threat as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. I am incredibly grateful that our business is in a fortunate position to continue to do our bit and support the fantastic work they do.”

Clarity Cares
Our donations are managed by our internal charity committee, Clarity Cares, who meet four times a year to decide on the causes, charities or projects that our business will choose to support each quarter. Take a look at the donations we have made since the programme started in 2018 in the Clarity Cares section of our website.
