As part of our ongoing commitment to donate at least 1% of our profits to good causes, we are pleased to be working in partnership with Dogs for Good by becoming a puppy partner to Doris.
Dogs for Good is a UK charity that has been making life-changing differences for people with disabilities through the power of expertly trained dogs since 1988. By creating partnerships between people and specially trained assistance dogs, this vital charity helps adults and children with physical disabilities and learning disabilities, children with autism and adults with dementia.
Born on 26 November 2020, the next twelve months will be crucial to puppy Doris’s training. Currently living with a puppy socialiser, she will learn all about the world around her. The young puppies must become obedient, calm and confident dogs if they are to go on to be a fully-trained assistance dog.
As a Puppy Partner to Doris, we are proud to support her through her initial training before she is matched with an individual. She will then start to learn the specific skills needed for this partnership in advanced assistance dog training. Finally, Doris will start her working life and begin changing the life of an individual or family.
In addition to assistance dogs, Dogs for Good also provides community dogs, working with specialist handlers in a wide range of settings to help people to improve their independence, wellbeing and skills, and a Family Dog team that gives advice and support to help families with an autistic child to get the most out of their relationship with their pet dog.
Our Dogs for Good puppy joins our current Hounds for Heroes squad and Canine Partners puppy partnerships.
Clarity Environmental Head of Communications, Lucy Brooks, said of this latest partnership: “With our own two resident Labradors in the Clarity office, we fully understand the positive effects that dogs can have and the joy they bring to lives. But Doris and other puppies like her will go even further by playing such a crucial role in someone’s lives.
“We are all looking forward to seeing Doris’s progress as she develops through her training. By supporting Dogs for Good we hope to play our part in transforming one person’s life for the better.”
Cathryn Simpson, Corporate Partnerships Manager for Dogs for Good, said: “Dogs for Good relies entirely on donations to carry out its life-changing work. With increasing demand for our services, we are thrilled that Clarity Environmental has decided to support us in this way and help us to create more life changing partnerships.”
