On leaving school, John joined the family transport business established by his grandmother, father and uncle in 1933. Under John’s management, the company developed into one of the largest family-owned waste disposal companies in the UK, with services including hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal and operating toxic waste landfill sites.

The family business was subsequently sold and in 1999 John became one of the first independent brokers of P(E)RNS. John is a Director and shareholder of Clarity, working in an advisory role, utilising his years as a successful business owner with a wealth of expertise in the waste and resources sector, specialising in waste disposal and recycling divisions.
